Characteristic:
Grassleaved Sweetflag Rhizomes contain bitter substance - acorin, essence, tannins, pitches, ascorbic acid, and other biologically active substances.
Description:
The chopped rhizomes. The slices of rhizomes are of various forms. The colour is yellowish or whitish -pinkish, sometimes glaucous, yellowish -brown, reddish-brown, sometimes dark brown. The odor is strong, fragrant, specific. The taste of water extraction is spicy-bitter.
Powder. The slices of rhizomes of the various form of yellowish, yellow-white, whitish-pink, glaucous, yellowish-brown, red-brown colour, with partially remained yellowish-brown or brownish stopper. The odor is strong, fragrant, specific. Taste of water extraction is spicy-bitter.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:
An appetite-stimulator of herbal origin (a bitterness).
Pharmacological effect:
Irritating the taste sensors of mucous membranes of a mouth and a tongue, the infusion of Sweetflag rhizomes in a reflex way causes a strengthening the gastric juice secretion, raises appetite, and improves digestion.
Application indications:
Sweetflag rhizomes are used as the means raising appetite and improving digestion in a complex therapy with hypofunction of a gastroenteric tract.
Contra-indications:
Hypersensibility to the preparation.
Method of application and doses:
Put in an enameled ware aprox. 8 g. (1 table spoon), fill in 200 ml (1 glass) with hot boiled water, cover and heat up on a water bath 15 minutes, cool for 45 minutes at room temperature, filter, wring out the remained raw materials. Bring the volume of the received infusion with boiled water to 200 ml.
Use internally in a warm form on 1/3 of a glass 3 times a day, in 30 minutes before meal.
It is recommended to shake up the infusion before use.
4 filter-packages (6 g.) put in a glass or enameled ware, fill in 200 ml (1 glass) of boiled water, cover, and brew 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bags with a spoon, and then wring them out.
Bring the volume of the received infusion with boiled water to 200 ml.
Use internally in a warm form on 1/3 of a glass 3 times a day, in 30 minutes before meal.
It is recommended to shake up the infusion before use.
Side reactions:
Allergic reactions are possible.
Release form:
The chopped rhizomes - in 30 g., 35 g., 40 g., 50 g., 60 g., 75 g., 100 g. in cardboard packs with an inner package.
The powder - in filter-sachets in 1,5 g.; in 10 or 20 filter-sachets in cardboard packs with an inner package.
Storage conditions:
Store in a dry place protected from light; the prepared infusion - in a cool place, no more than 2 days.
Store in a place inaccessible to children!
Expiration date:
The chopped rhizomes - 3 years.
The powder - in filter-sachets - 1 year and 6 months.
Do not use after the expiration date specified on a package.
