Milled roots.

Characteristics:

Marshmallow roots contain a great number of mucilaginous substances (polysaccharide mainly), and also - starch, pectin, sugars, asparagines, betaine, carotin, lecithin, phytosterol, mineral salt, and fatty oils.
Description:
The root part of different forms. The colour is yellowish-white or grayish-white. The odor is faint, specific. The taste of water extraction is sweetish with a sense of sliminess.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:
An expectorant drug of herbal origin.
Pharmacological effect:
An infusion of marshmallow roots shows an expectorate, coating, and anti-inflammatory effects
Application indications:
In a complex therapy of infectious-inflammatory diseases with a cough.
Contra-indications:
A hyper individual sensitization to the preparation.
Method of application and doses:
Put aprox. 6 g. (1 tablespoon) of roots in an enameled ware, fill in 200 ml (1 glass) of cooled boiled water, cover, and heat up on a boiling water bath 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, wring out the remained raw materials. Bring the volume of the received infusion with boiled water to 200 ml.
Take the medicine 1/2 - 1/3 of a glass 3-4 times a day after a meal. The course of medical treatment is 2-3 weeks. The repeated courses of medical treatment is possible only after the consultation by a doctor.
Side reactions:
The allergic reactions are possible.
Release form:
In 30 g., 35 g., 40 g., 50 g., 60 g., 75., 100 g. of the chopped roots in cardboard packs with an inner package.
Storage conditions:
Keep in a dry place, away from light; the prepared infusion - in a cool place, no more than 2 days.
Expiration date:
3 years.
Do not use after the expiration date specified on a package.
